Do you need a beauty diploma to practise lash extensions and lamination?

It depends on the country and, in Belgium, on the region.

In Belgium: in Flanders, the establishment law has been abolished since 2018. You no longer need to prove professional competence to set up as a beautician, lash application and lamination included. In Wallonia and Brussels, however, access to the beauty profession is still required when registering with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises: you prove it with a diploma, validated experience or by passing the Central Examination Board exam. You also need basic business management knowledge to set up as self-employed.

In France: no state diploma is legally required for lash extensions alone, it is not an act reserved to the CAP. However, as soon as you offer other regulated treatments (hair removal, facials), the CAP esthétique becomes necessary. Serious training remains strongly recommended.
