Graphite - Noemi Gel Tint 10ml
Graphite is Noemi's grey shade, with blue undertones and low to medium colour intensity. Its main purpose is to cool down colours: when added to another shade, it reduces warmth in the blend and creates cooler tones. Two starting ratios: 90% Black and 10% Graphite, or 80% Golden Blond and 20% Graphite for a more neutral blonde. Gel texture, mixed in a 1:1 ratio with a Noemi developer. Suitable for eyebrows and eyelashes. 10 ml tube, providing approximately 40 applications. Intended for professional brow and lash artists.
Graphite Gel: the grey shade for cooling down colour blends
A brown that's too red, a blonde that's too golden, or a black you'd prefer to be cooler: these are the situations where Graphite comes into its own. Its grey base with blue undertones neutralises warmth in a shade and shifts the result towards cooler tones. Its low to medium intensity allows you to add it gradually without overpowering the original colour.
Used on its own, Graphite creates a subtle grey shade.
What is Graphite used for?
- Creating cooler colours: Graphite shifts a colour blend towards ashier tones.
- Reducing warmth: just a few per cent can help tone down overly strong red or golden undertones.
- Cooling down black: when blended with Black, Graphite creates a cooler black shade.
A practical gel texture for colour blending
Measuring 10 or 20% of a shade requires precision. The gel texture is easy to dispense neatly and blends smoothly with other Noemi tints. Once mixed, it stays on the brush and doesn't drip during application.
Reference mixing ratios
| Goal | Base shade | Graphite |
|---|---|---|
| Cooler black | 90% Black | 10% |
| More neutral blonde, less golden | 80% Golden Blond | 20% |
| Cooling down another shade | Chosen shade | Small amount, adjusted as needed |
Prepare the shade blend first, then add an equal volume of developer.
Formula and active ingredients
Graphite Gel contains niacinamide, hydrolysed soy, wheat and corn proteins, aloe vera and lemon essential oil, which help protect the hairs and soothe the skin during tinting.
Results and longevity
Used alone or blended with another shade, the colour remains visible on the hairs for 5 to 6 weeks. The skin stain fades within 7 to 10 days, depending on skin type and aftercare.
Which developer should you choose?
| Application | Developer | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Natural-looking blend focused on the hairs | Crème Solution 3% | Soft colour, light skin stain |
| More defined blend, structured brow look | Gel Solution 3% | More defined skin stain |
| Tinting after brow lamination | Gel Solution 3% | Visible colour, gentle on the hairs |
For eyelashes
When blended with Black, Graphite can also create a cooler black tint for eyelashes. Allow approximately 10 minutes of processing time, with the eyes closed and the eyelids and under-eye area properly protected.

1. Before the Treatment
- Perform a sensitivity test before every tinting treatment.
- Choose the shade together with the client, taking into account their hair colour, undertones and desired result.
- Work on clean, dry hairs free from oily residue.
- For eyelashes: apply a protective cream to the eyelid skin, avoiding the lashes, then place a protective pad beneath the lower lashes.
2. Choosing the Developer
| Developer | Action | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Crème Solution 3% | Standard oxidation, even colour development and balanced skin staining | Standard eyebrow tinting, eyelash tinting, laminated brows and a natural finish |
| Gel Solution 3% | Controlled colour development and more defined skin staining | Medium-density or sparse eyebrows, graphic techniques, hair-stroke effects and tinting after a brow lift |
| Solution 6% | Intense oxidation and stronger colour development | Intense shades (red, copper, burgundy), deep black eyelashes and grey or resistant hairs |
- Solution 6% is not recommended for eyebrows when using universal or dark shades, or immediately after a brow lift. Wait until the hairs have stabilised again.
- You can mix Crème Solution 3% and Solution 6% in equal parts to obtain an intermediate strength of 4.5%.
3. Preparing the Mixture
- Place the tint in a mixing dish, then add an equal amount of developer (1:1 mixing ratio). Mix until smooth and homogeneous.
- When combining several shades, mix the tints together first, then add an equal amount of developer.
- The resulting texture depends on the combination selected:
| Combination | Texture | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Cream tint + Crème Solution 3% | Creamy | Soft and natural, focused on the hairs |
| Cream tint + Gel Solution 3% | Cream-gel | Defined, with enhanced skin staining |
| Gel tint + Crème Solution 3% | Gel-cream | Sharp and graphic |
| Gel tint + Gel Solution 3% | Gel | Intense, suitable for layered application |
4. Application
- Eyebrows: apply the mixture within 3 to 5 minutes in a thin, even layer. With a gel tint, outline the brows first and then fill them in, or work hair by hair. A second layer can intensify sparse areas.
- Eyelashes: the client must keep their eyes closed throughout the treatment. Distribute the tint evenly along the entire length of the lashes within 3 to 5 minutes, avoiding contact with the eyes.
5. Processing Time
- Eyebrows: 10 to 15 minutes.
- Eyelashes: approximately 10 minutes with cream and gel tints, and 10 to 15 minutes with Lash Dye.
- The exact processing time depends on the shade, hair thickness and skin type. Check the colour regularly and remove the tint as soon as the desired intensity is achieved.
6. Removal and Finishing
- Rinse the tint thoroughly with water. When rinsing the eyelashes, the client must keep their eyes closed.
- For eyebrows, carry out any shape correction after tinting, not before.
Precautions for Use
- These products are intended for professional use only.
- A sensitivity test is mandatory before every tinting treatment.
- When tinting eyelashes, always work with the client's eyes closed and protect the eyelids and the area beneath the eyes.
- If tint enters the eye, or if significant discomfort or a burning sensation occurs, immediately rinse the eyes with plenty of water.
- After a brow lift, the hairs are softer and more sensitive. Prefer Gel Solution 3% and avoid Solution 6%.
- Close tubes and bottles tightly after each use.
For professional use only. Avoid direct skin contact on the eye. Read directions for use carefully before application. Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. May cause irritation to eyes and skin and can cause an allergic reaction.

How do you cool down an eyebrow tint that's too warm?
Add a small amount of Graphite to the colour blend. Its grey base with blue undertones reduces warmth and shifts the colour towards cooler tones. Start with a small proportion and adjust as needed.
What mixing ratio creates a cooler black?
Mix 90% Black with 10% Graphite, then add an equal amount of developer. The result is a black shade with a cooler undertone rather than a neutral finish.
What about a less golden blonde?
Combine 80% Golden Blond with 20% Graphite. This softens the golden undertone and creates a more neutral blonde shade.
Can Graphite be used on its own?
Yes. Its low to medium intensity produces a subtle grey colour when used alone. However, Graphite is primarily used for blending with other shades.
How long does the colour last?
The colour lasts 5 to 6 weeks on the hairs and 7 to 10 days on the skin, depending on skin type and aftercare. Allow a processing time of 10 to 15 minutes for eyebrows.
Is a patch test required?
Yes, before every tinting treatment. This product is intended for professional use only.
